My Top 10 favourite games (In no order, I love them all equally!)
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
A great combination of 2D platforming mixed with RPG elements! I enjoyed the Castlevania games (Despite their known difficulty)
and after playing this, made me love it even more. It can be hard at times due to it's large Metroid-like map and figuring out where to go. However, it at it's best with it's fine horror themed design and fantastic soundtrack. Plus, you get summons in the game! A fairy that heals, a bat that follows and attacks, a magical sword that you could wield, etc. You get to transform ibto a bat, wolf and mist! HOW COOL IS THAT!? It even got me into dark and creepy horror stuff. X3 Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped
I LOVE Crash Bandicoot! Warped
was one of the first i played and instantly fell in love with as a child. Words cannot describe how much fun the levels and boss fights were! Collecting Crystals were great and although the Gems were a pain in the ass to get, it was satisfying once you finally collect one. Don't forget the power ups through out the game too! Such as the Bazooka, Death Tornado Spin, Sprint, Double Jump, etc. WHOO! I can't wait for the N.Sane trilogy to come out so I can relive all those great memories! Rayman Origins
Wow. This game. THIS GAME WAS AWESOME! The cartoony art style was astounding to me and reminded me how much I loved animation and the fantasy setting was so captivating! What makes this game even more fun was playing it on co-op with few friends! Believe me, I've played this with a few of my buds and it was a total blast! Truly, a unique game that stood out with it's addicting 2D platforming! I recommend it!
Pokemon: Soul Silver
was the first Pokemon game I ever played as a child. I never forgot the day my dad once gave it to me and the countless hours I spent, leveling up my team and going around the Johto region capturing pokemon and collecting badges. When I heard that it was being remade on the DS, I dropped everything that i was doing and immediately began saving up my money to by it! Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
Now THIS game, I could NEVER forget since my childhood. At first, I was a bit terrifyed of this game, it was dark and morbid as EVERYTHING was out to kill you and you had no means of defending yourself and playing it was hard as sh*t
as it was all about trail and error. But what drew me in was it's fascinating lore, universe, striking background art and it's twisted sense of humor! It left quite an impact on me as I recall doing countless drawings of the game and it's levels when I was young. Ratchet: Deadlocked
The Ratchet and Clank universe was freakin' AMAZING! What can I say? Traveling to different planets, blowing sh*t up with absurd yet badass sci-fi weapons (R.Y.N.O if you all catch my drift )
and it's funny dialogue and memorable characters! However, Deadlocked
had me hooked. Gladiator-like combat, strategy with your two combat-bots, Merc and Green, it just stood out most to me and I couldn't put the controller down for a second! (The Dual Vipers are SO much fun to shoot with!) MediEvil
Just like Oddworld, I was scared of this game at first. (Mostly because of it's creepy early FMV sequence in the intro)
But as I grew older and played it again, I've come to love it's macabre Tim Burton-esque atmosphere, it's vast and explorative gothic levels and it's unexpected humor. It's Legend of Zelda-
like weapon arsenal and puzzles made it such a memorable experience for me before I eventually bought it's PSP remake, MediEvil: Resurection
. In other words, it's visually awesome for the eyes for it's great quality and weapons make it a fun action/adventure game. Kingdom Hearts 2
Kingdom Hearts 2 was my personal favorites and I cannot tell you how much I replayed it over and over again!^^ The story was great and it's gameplay was greatly improveed since the last game with it's awesome Drive Forms
, and it was such a cool idea to crossover Disney with Final Fantasy! Seriously, when I realised that when playing the first game, it BLEW my 8-year old mind! To be honest, this was the first ever Platformer/RPG where I reached to at least Level 90!
Kingdom Hearts 3, here I come! Devil May Cry 3: Dante's AwakeningSTYLISH!
The Devil May Cry series really got me hyped with it's badass demonic weapons, guns, witty dialogue from Dante and more! Oh, the satisfaction when pulling off an S Rank combo when switching between Devil Arms
, upgrading abilities of your Styles
and unleashing the Devil within with Devil Trigger!
F*ckin' fun as HELL!
It did a really good job bridging the gap with Devil May Cry 1 as we finally see Dante's brother Vergil and what their relationship was like before Mundus came into play. It REALLY go me fascinated with Demon Mythology! Hell, it's one of the reasons why "Devil"
is part of my username! Okami
Wow. Just WOW! This game is BEAUTIFUL! not only did it stars a Wolf as a protagonist (Yeah, I love Wolves a lot.
) but it's graphics were superb, it's paint brush like art style was unique and atmospheric, the story was great and the countless amount of japanese lore and culture put into it made it even better! I loved everything about this game and personally, playing it felt like a dream come true. Honorable Mentions
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Onimusha series Maximo: Ghosts to Glory/vs Army of Zin Marvel vs Capcom 3 Jak and Daxter series Devil May Cry 4
